First Day of School Visits

Wednesday, 3 May, 2017:

This would turn out to be a much slower paced day than I had been accustomed to since touching down in Sweden last Friday.

Trees were coming to life
due to the Spring weather

I was assigned one simple task by the Warriors today, visit Södervikskolan to help conduct two of this junior high school's P.E. classes.

The goal, as usual, was to introduce the children to American football and hope that we could recruit a few new athletes into the Warriors family of teams.

Our first class was a bit rambunctious, but we made it through without too many complications.

We culminated each class by splitting the children into four teams and playing two flag football games at the same time.

SHE'S OPEN!

Going DEEP!

Our First Class

Our second class was much more fun to work with despite the fact that their teacher said they were disappointed in coming to us.

It seems that said teacher had forgotten our appointment and had told the class that they would work on orienteering skills today. Apparently this group loves orienteering.

I love my Waze GPS app on my iPhone.

Great kids, they adapted well and oriented themselves into a productive 45 minute American football experience.

Another QB that wants to go
DEEP!

 Breakaway speed

 Getting to the edge

 The windup . . .

 . . . and the pitch

 GO BIG RED!

 Our Second Class

Adam, Tuva and Karl

All three of them are former Warriors players who are now too old to play for the Wäsby club.

Their passion and leadership to help out today was GREATLY appreciated!

Their ability to speak Swedish was more than a little bit helpful too.

Thursday we are at it again working with P.E. classes at Väsbyskolan from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

It could get grueling.

Sorry effort on the
Physical Fitness front today

I'll try to definitely pick up the pace tomorrow.
