Swedish American Football Federation Update

Sveriges Amerikanska Fotbolls Förbund

The Swedish American Football Federation announced their new lineup of teams for the 2010 season.

In 2009, the Hässleholm Hurricanes competed in the SAAF's Division II Södra with five other teams. The Huricanes finished 7-3, their best record in their short, five year existence after playing each team twice during the season.

For 2010, the upgraded Hurricanes will be competing in the restructured Division I Södra. The Division will then be further broken down into two conferences.

Division I Södra South East Conference

The four teams in the South East Conference are:

YOUR Hässleholm Hurricanes

Hey, isn't the South East Conference supposed to be the best football conference in America?

The Kristianstad C4 Lions

The Carlshamn Oakleaves

The Oskarshamn Dockers

Famous for their relatively HUGE logo!

We will play each of the other three teams in the SEC twice, home and away, for a total of six games in conference.

Division I Södra South West Conference

The Limhamn Griffins

Another oversized logo eleven.

The Lugi Vikings
as well as
The Ekeby Greys
and
The Ystad Rockets

Sorry, but I could not download logos for Ekeby or Ystad.

In addition to our six SEC games, we will play the four SWC teams once each to complete our ten game regular season schedule.

In the next few weeks the SAFF will announce our exact schedule complete with dates, sites and kickoff times. . . stay tuned!

Travel Preparations Continue

On Sunday we tried our hand at making Swedish Pancakes at home for the first time. It took a few attempts but Laurie got quite good at it by the end of this VERY successful experiment.

Cold Weather Hat for Sweden

I think I nailed this one! I don't really know why Mike is going with the retro jacket.

For those who don't know what the retro jacket is....it is actually George's 1963 and 1964 C.I.F. S.S. Champions jacket. To Michael it is a treasure. =)

Wait a minute — one of the teams in your league is named for a brand of pants?

I look forward to the report on the team called the Van Heusens.
